The Village Board of Trustees approved a new zoning ordinance and map on December 3, 2024. This is the third official zoning ordinance of the Village. Previous zoning ordinances were approved in 2007 and January 2023. The new zoning map replaces one dated 2014.

Approval of the new “Zoning Ordinance of 2024” followed 19 public meetings, including one public hearing, conducted by a Zoning Commission throughout 2024. The public hearing was held on October 23 and the following week the Zoning Commission formally forwarded a recommendation on the draft ordinance and map to the Village Board. 

The Village Board discussed the Zoning Commission’s recommendation at three public meetings in November—on the 4^th, 14^th, and 19—before a final discussion and approval on December 3. The new ordinance and map became effective immediately upon approval.
