James Levand Recognized As Officer of the Year

On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Campton Hills’ K9 Officer James Levand was recognized by The Kane County Chiefs of Police Association, in partnership with the Batavia Moose Lodge #682, for outstanding police work in 2021.

Officer Levand, along with 3 Kane County Sheriff Deputies, were finalists for the “Louis Spuhler Award” (Officer of the Year Award) for their actions on June 16, 2021 in which their outstanding service and teamwork helped save the life of a young boy.

The Village is very proud of Officer Levand and grateful for the working relationship that it has with the Kane County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Levand and the 3 Kane County Deputies were nominated for this award by Sheriff Ron Hain.
